Arthur Béhérégaray
I make wine the way I like to drink it: with character, freshness, and without taking myself too seriously.
Before making wine, I served it. Working as a sommelier taught me to listen to what people look for in a glass, and to respect the work behind every bottle. One day I wanted to do it myself.
Today I’m a négociant-vinificateur in Saint-Péray, Ardèche, on the right bank of the Rhône, opposite Valence. In practice: I choose grapes from growers whose work I admire, and I take care of everything else. Winemaking, ageing, bottling. It all happens here, in the cellar.

Small batches, close attention
I work in small quantities, barrel by barrel. That gives me time to taste, to wait, and to let each wine find its balance. Syrah, Cinsault, Cornas: each cuvée has its own personality, and I’d rather follow it than force it.

The labels
Painted by my {xxxxxxxxx}
Every label is a watercoloured by my [XXXXXXXX]. Bold colours, flames, waves: he paints what the wine tells him. To me, it’s the best way to show that these bottles are a family story.
